Mozzy – Murder On My Mind

“Murder On My Mind” is a raw and deeply reflective track by Sacramento rap heavyweight Mozzy, released on July 22, 2022, as a standout record on his critically acclaimed studio album, Survivor’s Guilt (his first major release under Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group/Interscope imprint).

Produced by a powerhouse team including Reece Beats, Dave-O, Tariq Beats, and Will Record Beats, the song is anchored by moody, cinematic production that creates an intense atmospheric backdrop. True to his signature style, Mozzy uses the track to deliver unflinching, street-level vulnerability. Rather than glorifying violence, “Murder On My Mind” serves as a heavy psychological exploration of trauma, paranoia, and survival. He reflects on the constant mental toll of navigating dangerous environments, coping with the loss of close comrades, and dealing with the perpetual weight of self-defense and street obligations.

Coming at a pivotal stage in Mozzy’s career—just before he began serving a federal prison sentence—the track captured a profound sense of urgency and emotional maturity. Bolstered by a cinematic music video, the song resonated deeply with fans of authentic West Coast gangsta rap, cementing Survivor’s Guilt as one of Mozzy’s most introspective and defining bodies of work.
