Hustle Gang – Friends ft. T.I., RaRa, Brandon Rossi, Tokyo Jetz, Trae Tha Truth, Young Dro

“Friends” is a powerful, posse-cut anthem by Atlanta rap conglomerate Hustle Gang, featuring a star-studded lineup of label mainstays and affiliates: T.I., RaRa, Brandon Rossi, Tokyo Jetz, Trae Tha Truth, and Young Dro. Released on July 14, 2017, as a standout single from the compilation album We Want Smoke, the track serves as a raw, unflinching examination of fake loyalty, industry backstabbing, and the harsh realities of keeping a tight circle when money and fame enter the picture.

Produced by a collaborative beatmaking team, the song is anchored by a soulful, atmospheric trap instrumental driven by a haunting vocal sample, heavy bass drops, and crisp percussion. Rather than leaning into a standard club banger, the moody backdrop sets a serious, contemplative tone for each artist to unpack the theme of fair-weather associates.

• T.I. anchors the track with a commanding, veteran perspective, breaking down how success acts as a magnet for opportunists.
• RaRa and Brandon Rossi deliver smooth, soulful vocal hooks and melodics that bridge the gap between street grit and polished R&B.
• Tokyo Jetz, Trae Tha Truth, and Young Dro each step up with distinct regional flavors and aggressive, autobiographical verses, detailing personal experiences with betrayal and the strict code of survival in the music business.

Bolstered by its collaborative energy and deep thematic resonance, “Friends” stands out as a high point in the Hustle Gang catalog, showcasing the collective’s ability to unite distinct voices around a universal human truth.
