WunTayk Timmy – My Name

“My Name” is a hard-hitting, statement-making track by Louisville, Kentucky rapper WunTayk Timmy. Released as a lead single in September 2022, the song is a high-profile collaboration with legendary hip-hop host and mixtape pioneer DJ Scream, serving as a standout record on their joint album, Mr. Rap, released later that same year.

WunTayk Timmy originally gained significant attention as a close associate and frequent collaborator of fellow Louisville native Bryson Tiller, building a strong grassroots reputation for his sharp wordplay, relentless flow, and intricate lyricism. On “My Name,” Timmy delivers exactly what the title suggests: an aggressive, bar-heavy reintroduction where he fiercely asserts his identity and demands respect in the rap industry.

Navigating dynamic, bass-heavy trap production, Timmy showcases his elite lyrical ability while reflecting on his hustle and the dedication required to put his city on the map. Supported by DJ Scream’s signature, booming ad-libs—which lend the track a classic, mixtape-era authenticity—”My Name” operates as both a boastful anthem and a declaration of staying power. The track perfectly encapsulates his artistic drive, solidifying WunTayk Timmy’s status as one of Kentucky’s most formidable and authentically raw MCs.
