"This Is America" is a culturally seismic, politically charged single by Childish Gambino (the musical alter ego of actor, writer, and multi-hyphenate Donald Glover). Released independently on May 6, 2018, alongside a stunning simultaneous debut performance while Glover hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live, the track immediately ignited global conversations about race, gun violence, and mass media distraction in the United States.
