King Von x Funk Flex‬ – Lurkin

“Lurkin” is a high-octane, menacing drill collaboration between the late Chicago rap prodigy King Von and legendary Hot 97 disc jockey Funkmaster Flex. Released on January 29, 2021, the track arrived as a posthumous release following King Von’s tragic passing in November 2020, serving as part of Funk Flex’s ongoing campaign to curate hard-hitting singles with hip-hop’s elite street artists.

Produced by Gotcha Produced, the song is driven by a signature, high-energy Chicago drill instrumental loaded with relentless sliding 808s, haunting piano loops, and aggressive percussion. King Von delivers a masterclass in his trademark narrative-driven storytelling and chilling bravado, effortlessly recounting the dark, calculated realities of street survival, neighborhood paranoia, and code-of-the-streets enforcement. His commanding, cinematic delivery makes every bar feel like a vivid crime thriller.

The song was accompanied by an explosive music video directed by JLShotThat, blending live-action footage of Funk Flex in the studio with striking tributes to King Von. “Lurkin” stands out as a powerful testament to King Von’s raw, undeniable work ethic and enduring legacy, proving that even after his death, his unmatched energy and storytelling prowess continued to dominate the sound of modern street rap.
