Pooh Shiesty – Back In Blood (feat. Lil Durk)

“Back In Blood” is a menacing, explosive street-rap anthem by Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.), featuring Chicago rap superstar Lil Durk (Durk Banks). Released on November 6, 2020, as the lead single from Pooh Shiesty’s critically acclaimed debut mixtape Shiesty Season, the track became a defining cultural juggernaut of the early 2020s and a masterclass in modern drill-infused Southern trap.

Produced by Tay Keith and Go Grizzly, the song is built around an instantly recognizable, spine-chilling instrumental driven by an eerie, ticking piano melody, heavy bass sliding 808s, and hard-hitting Memphis percussion. The production sets a tense, paranoid atmosphere that feels like a countdown to confrontation.

Lyrically, “Back In Blood” is an unapologetic declaration of loyalty, street warfare, and the unforgiving consequences of betrayal.

• Pooh Shiesty delivers his breakout verses with a cold, unblinking deadpan delivery, establishing his reputation for ruthless authenticity and introducing his trademark ad-libs (“Blrrrd!”).
• Lil Durk contributes a career-defining guest verse that matches Shiesty’s energy stroke for stroke, reflecting on the heavy paranoia of street life, the permanence of grudges, and the reality of retaliatory violence (“Ain’t no turning down, we back in blood”angkap).

Accredited with multi-platinum success and dominating urban radio and social media feeds during its release, “Back In Blood” stands as the defining crowning achievement of Pooh Shiesty’s catalog, permanently etching his name into the annals of modern street rap history.
